RFID Technology

Salik uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to automatically detect vehicles as they pass through toll gates. Each vehicle is equipped with a small electronic tag that communicates with overhead readers at toll plazas.

How It Works:

  • RFID tag is mounted on the inside of your vehicle's windshield
  • When you pass through a toll gate, overhead antennas detect the tag
  • The system identifies your account and deducts the appropriate toll fee
  • Transaction is completed in milliseconds without stopping

Getting Started with Salik

Obtain a Tag

Visit any authorized Salik retailer or RTA service center to purchase your tag for AED 105 (including AED 100 credit).

Install the Tag

Mount the tag on the inside of your windshield behind the rearview mirror as shown in the installation guide.

Fund Your Account

Recharge your account through various channels including the Salik website, mobile app, or service centers.

Start Driving

Drive through Salik gates without stopping. The toll will be automatically deducted from your account.
